SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies), University of London, has a long tradition of research on Asia and Africa.
The Music Department at SOAS is unique as it is staffed exclusively by ethnomusicologists researching and teaching the music of Japan, China, Korea, South Africa, West Africa, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Cuba, Central Asia, Greece and the Middle East, among others.
